William “Bill” Ernest Foster, 77, of Alvaton, KY formerly of Scottsville, KY passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
He was born May 18, 1943 in Allen County, KY to the late William Wooten Foster and Lillie Mae Wood Foster. He graduated from Allen County High School and later served with the United States Army National Guard. He married Martenna McGuffey, who survives, on April 1, 1966 in Allen County, KY. Bill was retired from law enforcement where he served several terms as the sheriff of Allen County. Over the years he was a member of several organizations including Graham Lodge #208, Fraternal Order of Police, Allen County Cattleman’s Association, and a member of Cedar Cross Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Martenna McGuffey Foster, of Scottsville, KY, he is survived by
One son; Billy Foster, of Goodlettsville, TN;
Two sisters; Linda Thacker, and husband, Joe, of Scottsville, KY, and Reda Meador, and husband, Darrell, of Gallatin, TN.
He is also survived by his little dog, Lillie, whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 15, 2021 at 1:00PM at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, KY.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 12:00PM-8:00PM and after 7:30AM until funeral service time Monday, March 15, 2021 at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home.
Masonic Rites will be held Sunday March 14, 2021 at 6:00PM at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home.
In accordance with the Governor’s Mandate, social distancing and face coverings are REQUIRED and NO PUBLIC lounge is available at this time.
