Roy Croley

Roy Keith Croley, 52, of Scottsville, KY passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at his residence in Scottsville, KY after a brief battle with genetic GI cancer.

He was born January 14, 1968, in Scottsville, KY to the late Eugene ”Gene” Ellas Croley and Greta Dean Ball Croley who survives. He married Christy Petty Croley of Scottsville, KY February 22, 2020, at Concord United Methodist Chruch in Allen County, KY.  He held a bachelor’s degree in Aviation/Aerospace Engineering from MTSU, was a former board member of the Scottsville Country Club, and was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife Christy Petty Croley of Scottsville, KY, and mother Greta Dean Ball Croley of Scottsville, KY.

He is survived by one son, Jack Ward of Scottsville, KY;

Two daughters; Macy and Alex Ward of Scottsville, KY;

Two sister- in- law, Roberta Croley of Scottsville, KY and Cindy Petty Foster of Scottsville, KY;

His mother- in -law. Judy Petty of Scottsville, KY;

Three nieces, Jerika Simon (Jonathan) of Fate, TX, Caitlin Simon or Brownsville, KY, and Meg Foster of Scottsville, KY;

Four nephews, Gared Croley of Durango, CO, Iszic Blankenship, and Luke Simon both of Fate, TX, and Ty Foster of Scottsville, KY.

In addition to his father Eugene Ellas Croley, he is preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Eugene Croley; and his father- in -law, Bobby Petty.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2020, at 10:00 AM at the Harwood & Strode Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 AM

in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, KY.

A special visitation for senior citizens will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2020, from 9:00-11:00 AM at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home.

Visitation for the general public will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2020, from 12:00-8:00 PM at Harwood & Strode Funeral Home.

There will be no visitation Thursday, May 21, 2020, before the funeral service.

Memorials are suggested to the Scottsville Baptist Church or The Center for Courageous Kids and can be made at the funeral home.
