Darrel Wayne Woods, age 70, of Allen County KY passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at The Hospice House in Bowling Green, KY.
He was born on February 25, 1951 to Raymond Hoy Woods and Lillie Newman Woods. He was saved at the age of 10 in 1961 at Red Hill General Baptist Church. He was a member of Pleasant Grove General Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon in 1978. He was song leader and a former Sunday School Teacher.
He married the love of his life, Teresa June (Graves) Woods on August 28, 1970.
They were blessed with three children - Eddie (Nikki) Woods, Sharon (Bryan) Borth and Timmy (Leigh Ann) Woods, all of Allen County. Also blessed with 5 grandchildren - Bradley (Raychel) of Bluffton, South Carolina, Justan & Andrew of Lexington, KY & Aaron Borth of Richmond, KY and Hanna Woods of Allen County. Also survived by His brother, Toy (Teresa Lynn) Woods and several nieces and nephews.
Darrel loved his children and his grandchildren but most of all he loved his Lord. He lived what he believed – like it or not, he would share (tell) you how he felt about things. He believed in sharing the Gospel with everyone he met. He loved to sing. The last few days here on earth, when we could not understand what he was saying we knew when he was singing and praying.
As our hearts break, we know that he is now healed and rejoicing at his eternal home in Heaven. He has prayed for this day for the past three months and begged us all (even the doctors) to let him die but we all know the One that gives life and the one that taketh life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Donnie Dixon and Lewie Woods and one sister, Betty Miller.
We thank you all for you love and prayers during this time.
We love you, Dad!
